A range of personnel changes in the Diocese of Raphoe has been announced.

A range of personnel changes in the Diocese of Raphoe has been announced.

His Lordship, the Most Rev Philip Boyce, OCD, Bishop of Raphoe, has announced the following clergy appointments in the diocese.

This will see Very Rev Seamus Gallagher Parish priest (PP) of Newtowncunningham and Killea, to be moved as the new Parish priest for Frosses (Inver).

Rev Ciaran Harkin is returning from his recent sabbatical and is appointed to become the new Parish Priest of Newtowncunningham and Killea.

Rev Joseph Briody, Catholic Curate (CC) of Creeslough, is being seconded abroad and will join the teaching staff of St John’s Seminary, Boston in the United States. Fr Briody will be replaced by newly ordained Rev Jonathan Flood, originally from Ballintra.

Rev Shane Gallagher CC Ardaghey, is to be the new CC in Lettermacaward and Doochary and also Chaplain to Glenties Comprehensive School. Very Rev Canon William McMenamin PE, becomes Archdeacon of the Cathedral chapter while Very Francis McAteers PP Carrick and Glencolmcille and Very Rev James Friel PE, become Canons of the Cathedral chapter. These new appointment are due to commence at the end of August.
