Students our advised to pace themselves and take control of how much and how fast they drink and to have water between alcoholic drinks. Students are also urged not to drink on an empty stomach and to avoid rounds.
The groups also point out that there will be some students that are disappointed and a strong support system is crucial at this time, made up of both parents and friends.
The NPCpp is also providing a free Leaving Cert Helpline which can be reached for a week from Wednesday the 14 between 8am and 7pm daily on 1800 265 165.
