The internationally renowned comedian, Tommy Tiernan has decided to leave the road behind him and take to the waves in his up and coming world tour. The comedian who once appeared in the award winning ‘Father Ted’ has entertained the masses across the world.
His new mission is to enjoy the life of an islander along the west coast of Ireland. His promotional material describe Tiernan as searching for soul. It reads: “Like a man on a witness protection programme or a nun on the run, Tommy Tiernan takes to the islands of Ireland for his next world tour. Drawn like an old Christian monk to where wildness and wind are king, in search of late nights, good fiddlers, seafood chowder and a reasonably priced Bed and Breakfast, Tommy brings his decidedly Irish way of looking at the world to these most uniquely Irish of places.”
Tiernan will travel from Tory Island to Bere Island off Cork. “August will be spent in the most wonderful of ways. Ferry boating, amp lugging, bicycle hiring, yarn spinning, porter drinking, set dancing and kissing the missus on the beach as the sun comes up,” the promo promises.
Tiernan will appear at Early’s Bar on Arranmore island on August 15 and two days later he will appear at the Tory Island Social Club.
