The second annual Creeslough Walking Weekend takes place this weekend.

Last year they hosted a successful weekend of walks and trails for all ages.

Now, the organisers are hosting a series of scenic walks in and around the hills of the locality, starting on Saturday and continuing Sunday.

Both days will hold a strenuous walk, lasting approximately six hours, and a moderate walk lasting approximately four and half hours.

Sunday morning will also see a shorter hour long walk take place along the old railway track near Muckish.

Among the sights on the strenuous walks include Lough Altan, the Agla group of hills, and the Miners path of Muckish.

The moderate walks include a forest walk to Lough Altan and along the old railway lines.

All walkers are welcome and the assembly point for Saturdays activities is the sports field behind the carpark of St Michaels Church with registration from 8.15am.

Sundays registration is at the same time but the location changes to the carpark of Muckish Sand and Gravel in Carrownamaddy.

Suitable clothing and footwear is necessary and it is advisable to bring spare clothing, high energy snacks and water.
