Falcarragh sex offender Peter Corcoran, who was jailed for twelve years for a string of underage sex offences this week, attended the wedding of one his victims ruining what should have been one of the happiest days of her life.
41-year-old Corcoran, a farmer, was jailed for abusing seven victims, both boys and girls, over several years.
Speaking out today, one of his victims said she believed there are other victims who have not yet come forward and she called on them to break their silence.
The victim who’s name was given as “Heather” said she was abused between the ages of seven to eleven says she would now encouraged other victims to come forward.
Speaking on Highland Radio today she said she was unaware others were also being abused by Corcoran around the same time as she and by the time she was ten she began hiding out in a shed whenever the paedophile called to her home.
“I started realising this is not right but you couldn’t tell anyone else because you think you’re stupid. It was very tough. Then as the years went on you realised it was more and that other members of the family were affected. It was very hard,” she said the
“It’s the feelings as you get older are the problem. You get very confused and scared and it is very hard to know how you feel. Used I suppose, and it scars you for life and it never leaves you.”
She says she is now trying to move on from the ordeal. She praised her local gardai in Falcarragh for their help and support in bringing her attacker to justice.
