Donegal County Councillor Sean McEniff’s comments that Travellers should be “segregated” in a “community of their own” have been condemned by Micheál Martin.

Donegal County Councillor Sean McEniff’s comments that Travellers should be “segregated” in a “community of their own” have been condemned by Micheál Martin.

The leader of the Fianna Fáil party told thejournal.ie that the comments were “wrong” and “not acceptable”.

He said he was “very annoyed with that kind of comment” and that there is “no room for that in terms of Fianna Fáil policy.”

Mr Martin said he planned to speak to Cllr McEniff, who is currently out of the country, when he returns in a few days time.
