GardaÍ are investigating after a couple were found, one of them unconscious, in a car at Loughros Point on Sunday afternoon.
A garda spokesperson confirmed that a call was received at around 3.45pm on Sunday, from a member of a public who was worried about two people in a car at Doirlín Beach.
When gardaí got to the scene, they called for an ambulance which took the two individuals to Letterkenny General Hospital.
“One of the individuals was conscious and the other was unconscious,” the garda spokesperson said, “and we would have had serious concerns for their well-being.
“We do not believe that they are from the Ardara area.
“We are not releasing any further information regarding this incident at this time”, the spokesperson concluded.
Cllr. Terence Slowey says that the people of Ardara and environs “are understandably very concerned about the couple”.
He added: “They are in everyone’s minds. We are all hoping and praying that they will both be well.”
