Gardaí are investigating the discovery of the remains of a human foetus outside a property at Brenter, Dunkineely yesterday.
A garda spokesperson said the remains were found at approximately 5.15pm.
The spokesperson continued: “The foetus was removed to Letterkenny General where it was confirmed the remains were 13 weeks approximately.
“It is unclear how the foetus came to be there.”
Gardai are concerned for the welfare of the mother in case she is need of medical attention.
