Circuit Court judges passes away

A Circuit Court Judge who presided over one of Donegal’s most lengthy criminal trials in recent memory has passed away.

A Circuit Court Judge who presided over one of Donegal’s most lengthy criminal trials in recent memory has passed away.

Cork based Judge Con Murphy passed away yesterday following a short illness. He was aged 51.

Judge Murphy was appointed to the bench in 2004 and previously practiced as a solicitor at Bandon in West Cork.

He is survived by his wife Miriam, his mother, two brothers and a sister.

Judge Murphy spent three weeks last year presiding over an assault trial in Letterkenny Circuit Court that continued for three weeks.
