A six-day charity cycle in memory of Garda Robbie McCallion and Garda Gary McLaughlin who were killed in the line of duty in Donegal in 2009 and 2010 has raised €65,000.

The cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head took place from September 6th to 11th last year and involved over 100 cyclists and support team members from different counties in Ireland.

The beneficiaries of this collection were Richmond ICU - Beaumont Hospital on behalf of the McCallion family and St John's Ward and St James's Ward at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin on behalf of the McLaughlin family. The emergency department and the physiotherapy unit at Letterkenny General Hospital also benefitted.

The cyclists, the support team, McCallion and McLaughlin families would like to thank everyone who contributed in any way to the success of this event.
