A 33-year-old woman died in Ballyshannon in the early hours of this morning.
A pedestrian, she was hit by a mini-bus on the town’s Main Street, circa 1.50am.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision.
The woman, understood to be from Letterkenny, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was removed to the nearby Shiel Hospital in the town.
The man in his 50s, driving the mini-bus, was uninjured.
The scene is preserved to facilitate Garda forensic collision investigators. The road on Castle Street, leading to the bottom of Main Street is closed to traffic and diversions are in place.
