Multiple Sclerosis Ireland is thanking the students in schools throughout County Donegal for participating in MS Readathon last year with the support of their teachers, principals and families. The young readers raised funds to directly help people with Multiple Sclerosis locally.
Schools in County Donegal are encouraged to sign up during September. Last year, students joined more than 13,500 young readers across Ireland in the MS Readathon to read and raise funds for vital services for local people living with MS. 10 per cent of funds raised goes back into resources for the individual school.
MS Readathon is the key annual fundraising campaign of Multiple Sclerosis Ireland, the services, information and advocacy organisation supporting people with MS. Schools will be contacted by MS Ireland from the beginning of September, with information brochures and entry forms to sign up for MS Readathon 2015.
The 28th MS Readathon runs from October 9th to November 9th. Irish authors and illustrators including Cecilia Ahern, Sarah Webb, Derek Landy, Oisin McGann, Nicola Pierce, Shane Hegarty, Matt Griffin and Sarah Bowie support each year with tips and advice for young readers and budding writers.
For participating schools the 28th MS Readathon will provide: Individual certificate and gift for each reader; School and Library awards; 10 per cent of the money raised goes back into much needed resources for each participating school.
