This year’s Allingham Festival was, by any standard, a great success.

Revived following a meeting in Ballyshannon four years ago after locals gathered to see ‘what could be done’ for the town, the festival is one of a number of initiatives that have the ‘Backing Ballyshannon’ organisation to thank as a catalyst.

The prestigious guest speakers on the opening night - NI Arts Minister Caral Ni Chuil, Minister for the Gaeltacht Joe McHugh, Arts Council directors Orlaith McBride, DCC Enterprise CEO Michael Tunney and Neishaw Ali, president of Toronto-based Spin VFX - proved a big draw and numbers continued to swell throughout the weekend.
