A Stranorlar girl’s amazing personal achievements has earned her a place on a list which outlines the success stories of Ireland’s brightest and most inspirational young stars.

The journal.ie list, which focuses predominantly on those under 20, includes Louise Boyle, a Donegal youth councillor, who overcame personal issues to share the stage with Taoiseach Enda Kenny and talk at the 25th Anniversary celebration of the UN Convention of a child last November.

Through her work with Donegal Comhairleach na nÓg, Louise who struggled with confidence, found her voice. Through the support of the Comhairleach co-ordinator and other teenagers, she began to open up and got involved in their Sparks Mental Health Roadshow.

Speaking ahead of the event in 2014, Louise said: “I wouldn’t have thought, this time two years ago, that I’d be standing up in front of hundreds of people speaking about my experience of how Donegal Youth Council has impacted on my life.”

Youth Council Co-ordinator, Martin Keeney describes Louise as a great ambassador for young people from the county.
