Fine Gael Donegal County Councillor Barry O’Neill has announced funding of €30,000 for footpath provision at St. Benildus Avenue Residential area and at Assaroe Road in Ballyshannon.
Cllr O’Neill said “I am pleased that Donegal County Council Roads Department are in a position to make available €20,000 for the replacement of a footpath at St. Benildus Avenue in Ballyshannon. “
It’s an issued he’s raised on behalf of St. Benildus Avenue Residents Association over the last number of years and he said he’s delighted that works there will commence in the coming weeks while works have already started at Assaroe Road.
He added: “Further works will commence in the coming weeks on the road surface improvements along Assaroe Road and at Portnason.
“The works overall are very much welcome in Ballyshannon and I take this opportunity also to compliment the work being undertaken by the Ballyshannon Regeneration Group led by Barry Sweeny and funding that they secured in conjunction with the Town Clerk’s office under Mary Daly for the provision of new seating and tree planting project in the town”.
He thanked council roads engineers and roads staff for their work.
