Letterkenny court was left in the dark this morning after what is understood to be a power shortage in the town.
There was speculation that the district court would be adjourned until lunch time.
However, power returned at 10.45.
A significant number of homes and businesses in Letterkenny were also affected by the power shortage.
Overnight storms, with winds of up to 100kph, left more than 6,000 homes across the country without power.
Fallen trees also blocked many roads and rail services were disrupted for a time but have been fully restored.
