Fire crews and workers are working to pump flood waters of the grounds of Letterkenny General Hospital after it flooded again this evening.
Traffic came to a standstill outside the hospital and members of the public gathered to watch as the new Emergency Department was pumped and swept of flood water. Sandbags were gathered and placed beside the doors.
A heavy downpour flooded parts of the town earlier this evening.
Emergency workers quickly gathered and work is underway at present. Many of those who watched the events unfold said that they couldn’t believe that the department had flooded again.
The hospital flooded before on July 26, 2013.
