The two sides competing for the commercial radio licence for north Donegal will come face to face today at a public hearing.
The current holders of the licence, Donegal Highland Radio Limited trading as Highland Radio, and rival bidders, Donegal Commercial Radio Broadcasting Limited trading as DLFM Limited, will give presentations at today’s public hearing in Letterkenny which is being held by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny at 10.30am.
Both applicants will face questions from the Contract Awards Committee of the BAI.
Highland Radio, which was bought by Orangold Limited in 2008, has been broadcasting under the radio licence for the North Donegal franchise area for 23 years.
The station now faces competition from a bid which has strong business backing and media experience.
