The organisers of the 100 Years of Democracy exhibition in Bundoran are looking for information, artefacts, photographs and memorabilia.
The exhibition, which will mark 100 years of Bundoran Town Council, is a joint initiative between the council, Discover Bundoran, Magh Ene Historical Society and Bundoran Community Library. It will look back at 100 years of the council’s lifetime with displays of old documents, minute books, photographs and even the old fire pump! There will also be an “honour roll” of all councillors who served the town since 1914.
The exhibition will run from March until the council is abolished in the middle of this year. A Time Capsule, which will hold items pertaining to the “Bundoran of the Day” and mementos of the council, is being put together as well.
If you have any information or documents relating to the council, please email email@example.com. If you have an item for the exhibition, please drop it into the library.
Bundoran Tourism Officer Shane Smyth said: “The exhibition is not to serve any political purpose. It is a celebration of the successes of the council over the past 100 years and the difference the council has made through the years.”
