Thomas Pringle TD has welcomed the funding of €700k for phase one of the development of a Small Craft Harbour at Killybegs Fishery Harbour Centre.
“The community of Killybegs has been working for many years to provide this facility and I’m very happy that this progress has been made after the approval of the development last May.
“This small craft harbour when completed will provide a modern facility for current users, as well as short-term berthage for passing leisure craft.
“The funding will be provided under the 2014 Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Capital Programme and as a native of Killybegs I am delighted to see this progress being made. I would like to acknowledge Minister Coveney for allocating this funding; this is something which I have been keeping on the agenda in the Dáil and I’m happy to see this funding for the first phase finally approved.
“I also welcome the funding of €751 that’s been allocated to Donegal County Council to repair storm damage across the county, including €63k to repair Killybegs Harbour.
“This is certainly a boost for both Killybegs and across Donegal and I look forward to the repair works and small craft harbour development getting underway for the benefit of our communities,” stated Pringle.
