A search is underway at Bundoran for a suspected missing person.
Clothing and personal items were found in a sheltered spot near the popular Rougey walking route along the shore in Bundoran shortly before lunchtime.
Gardai requested the Coast Guard rescue helicopter, which was on a training exercise near Donegal Town, to carry out an aerial search of the area.
The helicopter returned to Strandhill to refuel this afternoon and resumed the search, along with the Bundoran RNLI Lifeboat, around 5pm.
The lifeboat was stood down at around 6pm due to rough conditions at sea but, at 6.15pm, the helicopter was still searching the area.
A garda spokesperson said that no one has been reported missing but they are continuing to carry out a general search of the area as a precaution.
