A search at Bundoran for a suspected missing person will resume at first light tomorrow morning. Fading light and testing weather conditions saw the search stood down on Thursday evening.
Clothing and personal items were found in a sheltered spot near the popular Rougey walking route along the shore in Bundoran shortly before lunchtime Thursday.
A garda spokesperson said that no one has been reported missing but they are continuing to carry out a general search of the area as a precaution.
Gardai requested the Coast Guard rescue helicopter, which was on a training exercise near Donegal Town, to carry out an aerial search of the area.
It’s expected the Rescue 118 Sligo SAR Helicopter will again join the search tomorrow morning assisted by Bundoran RNLI who also assisted yesterday afternoon.
There are online reports that gardai viewed CCTV footage of a person getting out of a taxi in the area close to the search.
