A new multimillion pound water and sewage treatment plant in Letterkenny was officially opened on Friday.
Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan TD performed the official unveiling before a large group of invited guests.
Master of Ceremonies at the event was Peader McGroary who was also senior engineer on the project.
He welcomed everyone to the new Wastewater Treatment Plant and Sludge Treatment Centre at Magheranan.
Mayor of Letterkenny, Cllr Paschal Blake addressed the audience and commended the excellent work carried out at the new site by Mr McGroary and his team. County manger , Seamus Nealy said overall the total cost of the project was close to €40m and was built to the highest modern standards. Minister Hogan said it was highly important to provided this new infrastructure.
