Castlefinn man Seamus Kee has announced that he is running as an independent in the local elections in May.
Mr. Kee, who is chair of Donegal Action Against Austerity, says he is running because people have become disillusioned with politics. The 39-year-old says he wants to bring transparency to the council.
“The people are Fed up with all these Austerity charges. The elderly have been ruthlessly cut, and I believe that I can be their voice in the Council,” he said in a statement. “I have decided to run as an independent so that I would be answerable to the people and not to a party.
“I feel that I would be able to give them the voice that they need and deserve in the council,” he said.
