Lucy Gallagher and her parents, Carleen and Gary, recently presented a cheque for 7,000 euro to Dr Grainne O’Regan of the dermatology team at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
The local community held a hugely successful fundraiser variety concert in May in the Maghery Community Centre that raised 8,850 euros, which Lucy’s family gave to the dermatology department in different instalments as the various pieces of equipment were purchased.
Lucy was born on August 8, 2012, with a rare genetic skin condition called Harlequin Ichthyosis. She is the only person in Ireland with the condition.
On behalf of the dermatology team, Lucy and her family wanted to thank everyone who participated, helped and supported the concert in any way.
