Residents living on Arranmore have been left without an Eircom phone line following a lightning strike on the island at the beginning last week.
Those who have been left without an Eircom phone line during the last nine days are frustrated over the delay and there are fears that it will take a number of days to fix the situation.
Islander Gerry Early has said that islanders feel frustrated more than angry over the situation. He added that a cohesive plan to deal with such issues on the island would be welcome.
“There’s frustration more than anger. There’s no cohesive plan to get it back. I am trying to highlight the issue,” he said.
The publican says that elderly people, who rely on their landline, are particularly concerned in relation to the situation.
