A West Donegal man appeared in Dungloe District Court this morning having been served with a book of evidence relating to 15 alleged sexual offences.
The man, who is in his 50s, was served with the book prior to his appearance by Garda Gerald Dalton.
It is understood each of the charges relates to complaints from one man and date back to the mid-1980s.
The defendant, who is currently serving a prison sentence, did not apply for legal aid.
Solicitor, Patsy Gallagher, sought legal aid and a Senior Counsel due to the serious nature of the alleged offences.
These were granted by Judge Paul Kelly before he issued an alibi warning to the accused.
He also placed a publication order that the accused is not named in the press before sending him forward to face trial at the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court, which takes place on October 29.
