A man who is believed to have strong Donegal connections is thought to be among the dead in the weekend helicopter tragedy in Glasgow.

A man who is believed to have strong Donegal connections is thought to be among the dead in the weekend helicopter tragedy in Glasgow.

John McGarrigle Snr, 59, whose family are thought to be originally from Letterkenny, was sitting in his usual spot in the bar when tragedy struck on Friday night.

His son John Jr (39) told media he believes his father, who was one of two pubgoers still missing last night, he believes his father is dead.

He said a witness had told him that his father had been sitting in his usual seat, at the spot where the helicopter came crashing down into the busy pub.

“He was in there and a ton of people have already told me that he was there. He is not answering his phone, he is not at his house . I know for a fact that he is dead, simple as,” Mr McGarrigle stated.

Police in Glasgow said this morning that they had found a ninth body in the wreckage of the Clutha bar.
