A 89-year-old pensioner who was the victim of a violent robbery in July at the home she shared with her sister near Raphoe, has died in hospital.

Suzy Arthur from Tullytrap died in hospital last night.

She was hospitalised after she was thrown to the ground by a gang who burgled the home she shared with her sister Iza on July 1.

Ms Arthur never left hospital after the attack that took place at approximately 5pm at their home just off the Lifford to Letterkenny Road.

She sustained a serious hip injury when she was thrown to the ground by the attackers.

There was wide spread outrage following the horrific ordeal.

Since she passed away last night, her nephew Joe McKean says those who attacked her are responsible for her death.

Gardai, this morning, have renewed their appeal for anyone with information in relation the incident to contact them at Letterkenny Garda Station on 9167100.
