Niall Breslin, or ‘Bressie’ as he’s better known, saw Donegal at its very best this morning when he arrived in Ballyshannon along with more than 250 cyclists.
The rugby player turned singer and mentor on The Voice of Ireland is taking part in the Cycle against Suicide. The 14 day circuit of Ireland, which set out from Dublin on Monday, April 22 and finishes back in Dublin on Sunday, May 5, has been organised to raise awareness about the help and supports that are available for anyone battling depression, self-harm, at risk of suicide or bereaved by suicide.
A massive crowd was on hand to welcome the cyclists to Coláiste Cholmcille, where they were greeted by Sylvester Maguire, a member of the 1992 Donegal All Ireland Champion team, and Vice Principal Mrs Geraldine Diver.
After a quick lunch in the Erne-side town, Bressie and the other participants will head for Letterkenny via Donegal town. They’re expected stop at the The Diamond at around 3.20pm arrive at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology at around 5.45pm.
