Thousands of people gathered in Ballyshannon on a balmy October Saturday night to view the 13th annual Donegal bay and Blue Stacks Festival finale - Carnival Ballyshannon.

The weather was remarkably kind for the time of year and numbers viewing reflected this with huge crowds taking every vantage point for what was a spectacular show case of colour, rhythm, song and dance.

There was a surprise ending too with Ballyshannon’s very own Flash Mob to the music of Paolo Nutini’s Pencil Full of Lead. More than 100 hundred children from Ballyshannon, Belleek, Bundoran and surrounds surprised the crowds as they emerged from behind the security barriers to do their wonderful five minute routine.
