Visit of Mexican Ambassador cancelled
A planned visit by the Mexican Ambassador to Donegal Town today has been cancelled at the last minute.

A planned visit by the Mexican Ambassador to Donegal Town today has been cancelled at the last minute.

His Excellency Carlos Garcia de Alba was due to meet business people from the town and its environs, to explore the possiblity of establishing business links between Donegal and Mexico.

He was also set to attend a the Food Coast Network Event at Harvey’s Point and a Mexican Musical Evening in The Central Hotel tonight.

Donegal Town Community Chamber, which arranged the visit, said this morning the ambassador had to cancel due to ill health. The Mexican Musical Evening in the Central Hotel has consequently been cancelled.

The Food Coast Network Event at Harvey’s Point Hotel, though, is still going ahead.

This invitation only event brings together local food producers and members of the hospitality sector in Donegal.

Gavin O’Rourke of Harvey’s Point will give a cookery demonstration, while Mary McGettigan of the A Taste of Donegal Food Festival and Ernan McGettigan of M. McGettigan & Sons, Butchers are also involved in organising this event.

Donegal Food Coast is an initiative of the Donegal County Enterprise Board.
