A Bundoran Town Councillor has strongly condemned the presence of a large number of camper vans in one of the resort’s premier car parks.

Speaking to the Donegal Democrat, Sinn Féin Cllr. Diarmaid Doherty said, “This situation is totally unacceptable and illegal. We have by-laws in this town which prohibits camping by anybody overnight in any of the council car parks. The situation here is in direct contravention of this law.”

Continuing he said, “It is a bit ironic that just a few months ago a visiting doctor parked his camper in the same location, purchased a parking permit and was fined because his vehicle was a fraction too long.”
