A 25-year-old man from Carndonagh who is living in Scotland has been missing for over a week.
Both the family of Barry Doherty and the police are appealing for information.
Barry Doherty was last seen at his home at Langcraigs Terrace, Paisley when he left the house around 11pm on Monday, July 15. His family have not heard from him since and are growing increasingly concerned about him.
He is described as 6ft tall with a slim build, short brown hair and hazel coloured eyes. When last seen, he was clean shaven and was wearing a blue t-shirt with white writing on it, navy or black coloured shorts and grey coloured canvas shoes.
A Facebook page has been set up to spread the word, while family and friends are also distributing flyers and posters.
So far, there have been a few leads but no confirmed sightings
Inspector David Brown from Paisley police office said: “It’s out of character for Barry not to contact his family and attempts to locate him have so far proved unsuccessful.
““Officers are checking with his friends and family in an effort to try and locate him. Barry also travels to visit family in Ireland and enquiries are being carried out with train companies and the ports.
“We are becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing. At this time, I would urge anyone with any information about Barry’s whereabouts or if anyone has seen him in the last few days to contact us so that we know he is safe and well.”
