Senator Brian Ó’Domhnaill is due to take to the Seanad floor within minutes to debate the issue surrounding European Union regulation on organ donation.
The Seanad is breaking its summer recess to debate the regulation on organ donations that were signed into law without debate last August.
Fianna Fáil Senator, Mark Daly collected twenty signatures from fellow members of the Upper House to trigger a legal clause to recall the chamber.
Senators were due to return to work on September 18.
The campaign initiated by Senator Daly is seeking to get the Minister for Health James O’Reilly to annul legislation arising from an EU regulation.
Meanwhile, the Labour party press office confirmed that Senator Jimmy Harte is not present at the debate.
