As speculation mounts the winner of last weekend’s €5 million Lotto jackpot remains a mystery.

The winner bought their ticket in Costcutter, Ballybofey on Saturday, April 6. Out of almost 46,000 hopefuls around the country, only one ticket had the winning numbers of 1, 12, 16, 26, 27, 29 with

bonus number 41.

“We’ve no idea who the winner is but there is plenty of buzz around the town with people wondering about who it might be,” said Costcutter Ballybofey owner Michael Doherty.

Michael, who also owns the Costcutter branch in Carndonagh, said the Lotto winner chose their own numbers on the €4 ticket which netted the lucky player a total of €5,146,800.

“We are all delighted and wish the winner luck, health and happiness, whoever it is,” he said.

This is not the first time one of Michael Doherty’s Costcutter stores has sold a winning ticket. In recent years, Costcutter Carndonagh sold the winning ticket for a €250,000 Lotto Plus jackpot and many customers have won smaller amounts over the years, continuing on the winning streak for the area.
