This is the shocking photograph of St Eunan’s GAA player Ronan Lennon after he sustained facial injuries in a match in Letterkenny on Sunday afternoon.

St Eunan’s were playing Naomh Conaill, Glenties in a Division One Reserve fixture at O’Donnell Park.

The injuries were sustained around five minutes from the end of the game following an incident involving a number of players from both teams.

Ronan Lennon received on-pitch treatment and was then taken by ambulance to Letterkenny General Hospital. He was released from hospital late on Sunday night.

The player suffered mainly bruising and swelling to his face and was released from hospital last night.

A St. Eunan’s spokesperson issued a statement to the Donegal People’s Press/Donegal Democrat: “It was an unsavoury incident towards the end of the game. We will await the referee’s report before we decide how we proceed,” said the spokesperson.
