This Monday’s hearing of the Standards in Public Office Commission (SIPO) relating to expense claims made by Fianna Fáil Senator, Brian Ó Domhnaill, when he was a member of Donegal County Council, has been postponed.

SIPO had invited the Fianna Fáil Senator to attend the hearing into the expense claims which were made for travelling and subsistence to the council and to Udarás na Gaeltachta for attendances at conferences and other events.

Last month, SIPO confirmed that Senator Ó Domhnaill had requested that the proceedings be carried out in Irish. Irish translation facilities were to be provided and documents had been translated for the hearing.

No new date has been set for the hearing.
