Barnesmore road victim named

The man who died in a road traffic collision in the Barnesmore Gap, near Ballybofey, yesterday morning (Tuesday) was a health care worker originally from the Philippines who lived in Stranorlar for several years.

Maximo Domens lived in Glebe Hollow in Stranorlar and died when his car collided with a bus at approximately 8.30am.

His funeral mass takes place on Friday morning at 10 o’clock St. Mary’s Church, Stranorlar followed by cremation in Mount Jerome crematorium, Dublin, at 3.30pm.

Mr Domens, 57, died at the scene of the crash and five people travelling on the bus were treated for minor injuries.

Gardai in Ballybofey are investigating the matter and are appealing for witness to the incident.

He is survived by his wife Lani, who is a nurse in the Sean O’Hare Unit in Stranorlar, and his family members in the Philippines.
