Ballyshannon man Seamus Langan surprised his wife Rosaleen in a very special way on their 30th weeding anniversary on Friday night last when he booked a showband for their big night.

Rosaleen, who also celebrating her birthday, is a huge fan of the famous “Indians” showband and she was more than pleased when the music started as Big Chief Sitting Bull and all the tribe started to play!

Seamus had pre-booked the band months ago as a special treat for his wife who has always loved the band who they danced to as a younger couple in Bundoran many years ago.

Seamus, well known as director of elections for Fine Gael in Ballyshannon, had kidded Rosaleen that they were going to a Fine Gael meeting in Dorrian’s Imperial Hotel in Ballyshannon, but when they walked into the function room, they were greeted by more than 100 guests.

Stunned and delighted, Rosaleen was to be surprised later when the famous “Indians” showband stepped up on stage to entertain guests.

The band, which includes TV personality Lorraine Keane’s dad on keyboards, put in a superb two hour plus set. The night ended with Seamus and Rosaleen’s sons, Mark and Seamus, who are part of a local Rock band, playing into the small hours.
