Teenager airlifted to Sligo General

A teenager who got into difficulties while taking part in a charity swim near Killybegs on Sunday evening was airlifted to Sligo General Hospital.

A teenager who got into difficulties while taking part in a charity swim near Killybegs on Sunday evening was airlifted to Sligo General Hospital.

The 18-year-old woman had to be rescued by a kayaker. It is understood she was taking part in an annual charity swim from Fintra to Portnacross and got into trouble in the water just before 7.30pm. She was airlifted from Fintra beach to Sligo Hospital.

Her condition was not life threatening.
