Donegal Pens brothers set for Dragon’s Den scrutiny

Two young lads from Loughanure who must surely qualify as Ireland’s youngest entrepreneurs are all set for some serious scrutiny from the dragons of the popular TV series Dragon’s Den.

Two young lads from Loughanure who must surely qualify as Ireland’s youngest entrepreneurs are all set for some serious scrutiny from the dragons of the popular TV series Dragon’s Den.

Ronan & Conor McGarvey from Loughanure who featured in many dispatches in the national media with their handcrafted Donegal Pens have qualified for the regional heat in Sligo on Thursday, November 22.

The McGarvey lads started off in a small shed in their own back garden have proved themselves experts at marketing their products having gained national exposure in presenting their pens to everybody who was everybody including Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Apart from their marketing ability they also use the opportunity to market their pens at many events and exhibitions throughout the country.

This year, two episodes of the RTÉ ONE series Dragons’ Den will be dedicated to the ideas of Ireland’s budding young entrepreneurs. Second Level students from every corner of Ireland have been invited to take part in a large recruitment drive to find young entrepreneurs to take part in Junior Dragon’s Den and Donegal Pens will be in their waving the flag for the county and hoping to secure a dragon as a potential investor.
