MICAD SECURITY – APOLOGY

In our 10 July edition we carried an article entitled “Donegal security company put under the spotlight after security chaos” which incorrectly suggested that Micad Security was “….at the centre of controversy after nine people were stabbed at a Dublin concert and a man died of a suspected drugs overdose”.

In our 10 July edition we carried an article entitled “Donegal security company put under the spotlight after security chaos” which incorrectly suggested that Micad Security was “….at the centre of controversy after nine people were stabbed at a Dublin concert and a man died of a suspected drugs overdose”.

While Micad Security did provide security services to the event, such services were of a peripheral nature only and no Micad staff were employed in the main arena where a number of serious events occurred. No Micad staff were involved in any of the incidents reported in our article as security staff in the relevant incident areas were provided by other security companies which have no connection to Micad.

We unreservedly apologise to Micad for wrongly suggesting that it might have questions to answer in relation to the services which it provided to the concert promoters. We readily accept that Micad has an excellent reputation in Donegal and nationally which has been built on many years hard work and that our article, insofar as it concerned Micad, was without foundation.
