Urging people to resist paying the household charges Joe Higgins TD, a leading figure in the anti-household charges campaign, will address a public meeting in Letterkenny next Tuesday.

The meeting, open to the public and organised by the United Left Alliance, will take place at 8 pm, Tuesday, April 3rd, at the Station House Hotel in Letterkenny.

With the March 31st deadline for payment of household charges looming, Deputy Higgins is encouraging people to continue their resistance to the household charges which he describes as an “unfair tax on ordinary, decent folk.”

Deputy Higgins will be joined by Brian O’Boyle, an economist who argues that the austerity measures implemented by government will serve to deepen the crisis in Ireland, with cuts to schools and vital services.

The talks will be followed by a public discussion on the fight against austerity. For more information email ulaletterkenny@gmail.com or telephone/ text 086 3622378.
