Two men appeared last night at a special sitting of Sligo District Court charged in connection with the seizure of a significant quantity of cannabis in Co Donegal on Friday.

Two men appeared last night at a special sitting of Sligo District Court charged in connection with the seizure of a significant quantity of cannabis in Co Donegal on Friday.

The seizure of cannabis was reported earlier as having an estimated street value of €1.6m and the warehouse with approximately 2,000 cannabis plants was raided by gardaí at Trummon, Laghey.

The men, aged 44 and 37, were charged with possession, possession with intent to supply, and cultivation of cannabis at Trummon, Laghey, Co Donegal on 25 May.

Judge Kevin Kilraine remanded both men in custody to Castlerea Prison to appear again at Harristown District Court on 1 June.
