BREAKING NEWS: Two men arrested in relation to Glasgow death

Strathclyde Police have arrested two men in relation to the death of a Donegal man in Glasgow last weekend.

Strathclyde Police have arrested two men in relation to the death of a Donegal man in Glasgow last weekend.

William McKeeney (57), a lorry driver from Malin Head, moved to the Pollokshields area of Glasgow five years ago.

His partner Anne-Marie (48) was left traumatised after witnessing him being beaten to death in the early hours on Sunday morning.

Two men, aged 19 and 20 years, have been arrested and are presently detained in police custody in connection with the incident.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Andrew Bates commented: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community in Pollokshields for their assistance and support in helping officers take this investigation forward so quickly. I have no doubt that without this we would not have been able to make these swift arrests.

“My officers will remain in the area working with elected members and the wider local community to provide public reassurance and ongoing support.”
