Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay campaigners head to Arranmore this weekend

The Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay campaign opposing household, septic tank and water charges holding a public meeting this weekend on Arranmore Island.

The Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay campaign opposing household, septic tank and water charges holding a public meeting this weekend on Arranmore Island.

“Seeing that there were communities organising all across County Donegal, we thought that it was time we organised ourselves also on the island to speak out against these unfair taxes,” said islander Jerry Early.

Thomas Pringle, independent TD for Donegal South West, who has said he will not pay the charge; and Micheál Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig, a spokesperson for the campaign, will speak at the meeting.

The Arranmore meeting will be held at 8 pm on Saturday, Jan. 21st, in the Community Hall on the island.

The campaign has scheduled a series of meetings throughout January in communities around the county.

Upcoming Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay meetings include 8 pm, Monday, Jan. 23rd, at the Station House Hotel in Letterkenny; 8 pm, Wednesday, Jan. 25th, at the Ramelton Hall; and 8 pm, Thursday, Jan. 26th, at the Drift Inn in Buncrana.
