Mayor expresses concern over drink-related numbers
Figures released by the HSE revealed the 26 young people presented themselves at the emergency department of Letterkenny General Hospital after a recen night out.
Commenting on the figures, Mayor of Letterkenny, Cllr Gerry McMonagle, said he is alarmed and concerned at the affect which low price alcohol is having on young people.
The figures released by the HSE should act as a wake up call to everyone, but especially those in the drink trade, he said.
“It’s important that vintners and others who sell alcohol look at the dangerous consequences of selling alcohol at seriously low promotional prices,” he said.
