Motorists in Donegal are being urged to drive with extra care today, as heavy rains and high winds continue to pummel the county.

Flooding has been reported on the N15 Donegal to Sligo road between Bundoran and Cliffoney, on the N13 Stranorlar to Derry road at the Dry Arch roundabout and on many local roads.

According to Met Eireann, the heavy rains should turn to scattered showers this afternoon and tonight. The southwesterly winds will veer westerly and become strong and gusty before turning soutwest to south and easing sometime tonight.

Temperatures are set to fall this afternoon, to 4-6 degrees but tomorrow (Wednesday) is expected to be mild and mainly dry, with temperatures rising to 9-10 degrees.
