The ever present Sky Television has had its share of problems in the last week with "Greygate" and multiple accusations of "sexism" in the station dominating practically every newspaper and newscast in the country but last Saturday morning one girl from Donegal Town proved that she is indeed a match for all male competitors when she proved a big hit with a world wide viewership on Sky.
The former army lieutenant Colette McBarron and now the owner of her own personal fitness company Barrons Fitness in London made a very impressive on the popular Soccer AM along with presenter Max Rushden and Chris Kamara who has played with many top premiership teams and has managed Stoke City and Bradford.
Collette is considered one of the top personal trainers in the business by clients and peers alike,
"It's my passion for delivering success that allows me to thrive in this results driven industry." she said.
On the show Colette declared her unflinching support for the boys in blue Chelsea but indeed changed her colours when it came to home support - she opted for minnows Pettigo FC over Division 1 team Finn Harps.
Presenter Rushden showed his sparse knowledge of League of Ireland football when he referred to Harps lying 9th. in the league. Given that the league hasn't even started maybe another football presenter will be getting a ticking off from Sky but it would be unlikely that he will see red!
Mc Barron handled herself like a true professional and many predicted afterwards that she herself would indeed make a great television host.
She then participated in a fitness challenge with Chris Kamara which involved press ups against the clock where the both finished on 19 in the allocated time.
We are reliably informed that Ms. McBarron has not applied for Andy Grey's job in Sky despite her recent success.
